BGFI is registered as a community-based organization in Kisoro District, Uganda. The registration certificate is dated 17 September 2026 and bears number DGCS/1187/2026.
The accompanying operating permit, DGCS/13087/2026, was issued on the same date and states a validity of 12 months from issue. Registration and permit documentation can be requested from the project contacts.
Shielding the Great Apes is a proposed programme. The targets on this website describe the intended reach and planned activities over 24 months. They do not represent people already reached, infrastructure already installed or funding already received.
As implementation progresses, dated reporting will be needed to show what has been delivered and what has been learned.
The programme proposal includes baseline, mid-term and final assessments, regular budget monitoring, quarterly financial reporting and appropriate financial review. These are commitments in the proposal, rather than completed audits or existing outcome reports.
The proposal identifies intended collaboration with Uganda Wildlife Authority, Kisoro District Local Government, health facilities, Village Health Teams, schools and community leaders. Specific partnership arrangements are to be established through implementation planning.
